The following are the current labour rates in CI dollars that are used by the Cayman Contractors Association.

DEFINITIONS

TRAINEE No previous experience or minimal previous experience in construction
LABOURER Minimum one year experience in construction, but no specific trade skills
SEMI-SKILLED Minimum one year experience in construction, with some specific trade skills
CARPENTER Experience in carpentry at the journeyman level
LEAD CARPENTER Journeyman carpenter who is experienced in leading small crews
MASON Experienced in masonry at the journeyman level
STEEL FIXER Minimum one year experience in fabricating steel reinforcement for poured concrete
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR Minimum one year experience in equipment operation (crane, extendaboom, forklift, etc.)
FOREMAN Journeyman-level tradesman responsible for small crews of labourers and/or tradesmen
SITE SUPERVISOR Responsible for all in-house personnel and sub-trades on-site; all materials and equipment on site
PROJECT MANAGER Responsible for overall management of project or projects, inclusive of client liaison and contract management
MEP APPRENTICE No previous experience or minimal previous experience in M/E/P
MEP INSTALLER Semi-skilled with license in M/E/P
MEP LEAD Licensed with minimum of five years experience in M/E/P

 

CODE OF ETHICS

We hereby pledge to abide by the CCA's Code of Ethics in our daily business operations:

  1. Client Service. To serve all clients with honesty, integrity, candor and objectivity. To provide services with competence, using reasonable care, skill and diligence consistent with interests of the client.
  2. Representation of Qualifications and Availability. To only accept assignments for which the contractor is qualified by education, training, professional experience and/or technical competence, and to only make representations concerning qualifications and availability which are truthful and accurate.
  3. Standards of Practice. To furnish services in a manner consistent with the established and accepted standards of the profession in accordance with the laws and regulations which govern its practice.
  4. Conflicts of Interest. To endeavor to avoid conflicts of interest, and to disclose conflicts which may impair objectivity or integrity.
  5. Fair Compensation. To negotiate fairly and openly with clients in establishing a basis for compensation, and to charge fees and expenses that ate reasonable and commensurate with the services to be provided and the responsibilities and risks to be assumed.
  6. Release of Information. To only make statements that are truthful, to keep information and records confidential when appropriate and to protect the proprietary interests of clients and professional colleagues.
  7. Public Welfare. To not knowingly violate any law, statute, or regulation in the performance of services including but not limited to the Cayman Islands Building Code, the Trade and Business Licensing Law, the Companies Law (if incorporated), the Labour Law, the Immigration Law, the Health Insurance Law, the Public Service Pensions Law and the Workmen's Compensation Law.
  8. Integrity of the Profession. To avoid actions which promote self-interest at the expense of the profession, and to uphold the standards of construction with honor and dignity.
  9. Wages. To abide by the current wage rates approved by the Association from time to time.
  10. Health and Safety. To comply with the Cayman Islands Government Health and Safety regulations.
